Mia’s hands were tight fists. Her chest felt hot. Her head full of swirling thoughts.

“I don’t like this feeling!” she shouted, stomping her foot.

Her dad knelt beside her. “I see you’re upset, sweetheart. Want to learn how to make your big feelings smaller?”

Mia huffed. “How?”

Her dad held up his hands. “Imagine your feelings are a big balloon inside you—when it gets too full, we can let some air out.”
